How Can severe Shoulder Blade Pain Be Treated?

I took a fall on my side and chest a 2 weeks ago and have had pain in my ribs and shoulder blade in back. I can breath fine, except it hurts when I do. I did not go to the doctor, I have been taking ibuprofen (1600 mg a day for the pain). Should I be doing something else! I still have lots of pain if I don t take the medicine especially when I cough or move, also a constant ache.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist, better to consult an orthopedician and plan for an MRI scan to rule out ligament or tendon injury.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
